Topcon Field Controller

A new data controller from Topcon Positioning Group, the FC-500, features a large 4.3-inch touch-screen display and 5MP camera with built-in LED flash. The FC-500 is designed for the professional user operating Topcon’s MAGNET Field, Site and Layout software and Pocket 3D. The FC-500 works with all Topcon GPS/GNSS receivers and total stations and meets or exceeds all field application requirements. In addition, the FC-500 works with the new Topcon LN-100 instrument dedicated to BIM (building information modeling) and one-person construction layout, simplifying workflow, says Topcon, with integration with the MAGNET suite of software solutions.  An 8GB flash storage system allows storing hundreds of job-site photos, according to the company, and the standard model has both Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, while the FC-500 GEO has Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS. A third model adds a 3.5G cellular modem that allows access to the MAGNET Enterprise Solutions suite.
