TopconTopcon Positioning Systems has introduced its GPT-7500 and the GTS-750 total station series, which feature rugged, small, light units with increased performance at the same price as older models. The total stations have a 400MHz Intel processor running Windows CE and a 2000-meter non-prism range (GPT-7500). According to Topcon, the instrument can operate efficiently and effectively at 2,000 meters (6,562 feet). The instruments are available in 1-, 3- or 5-inch accuracy models; the 1- and 3-inch versions have dual displays, and the 5-inch has a single display. Features of the new series also include Topcon’s TopSURV onboard software; large, back-lighted keypad, with bright, color LCD touch-screen; CF card, USB Type A and USB mini-slots for new storage and transfer options; increased battery capacity and operating time; and an 8-percent reduction in physical size, compared to previous models.
