Top 100: Mill Base Boosts Material Flow

Morbark redesigned the mill base in its Model 1300 Tub Grinder to improve material flow from the machine. The tub flare was also lowered six inches to improve feeding and capacity. A hydraulic clutch and breakaway torque limiter manage power from engine choices that include Cummins or Caterpillar diesels at ratings up to 1,000 horsepower. Dual auger discharge feeds the conveyor, which was widened to accommodate a 40-inch belt. Estimated list price: $445,000 to $475,000.
