Case added the 35-ton 335 and 40-ton 340 to its articulated-dump-truck lineup. Their unique front driveline routes power directly from a limited-slip differential mounted on the transmission to each front wheel via a pair of transaxles. It eliminates a driveshaft and adds 4 inches of suspension travel. A wider wagon frame carries payload lower, increasing stability. Lift cylinders are protected by their mounting inside the frame. An innovative warm-up circuit option uses the transmission retarder to warm the hydraulic oil at engine idle speed. The engine can be started in warm-up mode by a switch accessible from ground level.
