Topcon Positioning Group has announced advances to its P-32 asphalt paving system with new components including the ST-3 sonic tracker, anti-vibration slope sensor, and a firmware update to the full-color, graphic display GC-35 control box. The system, says Topcon, is built to improve smoothness, ensure accurate slope and material thickness, and to provide unmatched operator ease-of-use, allowing the paver operator to view screed elevation and slope values from a single control box. The ST-3 sonic tracker is designed to enhanced position indication on string lines, provide a wider range of linear detection, and work more effectively in tight areas. The new slope sensor is designed to increase accuracy in application in which vibration and temperature are challenges.
