Structure Tone's Washington, DC, office has experienced a steady stream of new awards signaling a strong 2008 for the local office. The awards range in size from just over 1,000 square feet to close to 100,000 square feet and primarily focus on interior construction. Project awards include the following:
Cassidy & Pinkard Colliers: 56,000-square-foot demolition and white-boxing effort on floors two, three, four, and five of the Liberty Place building located at 325 7th Street, NW, Washington, DC. Working with OTJ Architects, Structure Tone will complete the first phase of this project in the existing tenant space including demolition, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work.
Ernst & Young: named the general contractor for the restack of the Ernst & Young offices located at 8484 Westpark Drive in McLean, VA. The mixed-use office will include 122,000 square feet of occupied space on four floors. The tenant space will consist of open office space, offices, conferencing facilities, and assorted break areas. Structure Tone is working with Jones Lang LaSalle, serving as the project manager for Ernst & Young, and Gensler Architects to complete on the project.
Cole Haan: named the general contractor for the construction of the new 3,500-square-foot Cole Haan store in an existing tenant space located on the first level of the retail complex at Wisconsin Place, Washington, DC.
Iloria Interior Fit-Out: selected as the general contractor for Luxottica Retail's 730-square-foot high-end retail tenant space located at 5310 Western Avenue, Wisconsin Place, Chevy Chase, MD. Working alongside the architect, Cortland Morgan, and the project coordinator, Intertech Design, Structure Tone is scheduled to managing construction of this project.
Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft: selected as the general contractor by Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft and Jones Lang LaSalle for the interior renovation and fit-out of Cadwalader's 90,000-square-foot new office space located at 700 Sixth Street, NW, Washington, DC. For this project Structure Tone will be coordinating with Butler Rogers Baskett Architects to complete the three floors, which consist of law offices, a conference center and a catering kitchen in a newly delivered building.
Avaya: selected as the general contractor for tenant fit-out at 2250 Corporate Drive, Herndon, VA. This 1,500-square-foot renovation will include office and cubical work stations as well as SCIF space. Structure Tone will be working with the project team, which consists of CBRE and DBI-Allison Lee Architects, to complete the project.
CareFirst, BlueCross BlueShield: awarded 10,000 square feet of office space for CareFirst, BlueCross BlueShield at their Columbia Gateway location. Structure Tone will provide construction management services for office space located on floors four and five, completing interior improvements such as carpet, paint and appliance replacement.
JW Marriott Super Suites: awarded the renovation of the JW Super Suites located inside the hotel at their Pennsylvania Avenue location. This 8,000-square-foot project is the complete renovation and upgrade of five Super Suites located on the top floor. Structure Tone will be working alongside JW Marriott's architecture team, Marriott International, to complete the project. The scope of work includes renovation of all finishes, as well as total upgrade of the restrooms — fixtures, showers, flooring. The project will begin over the 2008 Thanksgiving holiday and will be complete in time for the 2009 Presidential Inauguration and the festivities.
Reston Town Center Management Offices: selected as the general contractor by Cassidy & Pinkard Colliers International for the renovation and build-out of a 2,500-square-foot office space located at 11921 Freedom Drive, Reston, VA. The renovations on the first floor of the Two Fountain Square building include partial demolition to the existing office partitions and upgrades to the restrooms and pantry areas. New partitions for conference rooms, individual office spaces and work stations, as well as the reception area, will also be built-out. Structure Tone will be working with M Group Architects and KTA Engineers to complete the renovations for Cassidy & Pinkard at the Reston Town Center location.
Navy Memorial Foundation — Phase 1: awarded the Navy Memorial Foundation project located at 701 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC. This 1,200-square-foot project is the renovation and replacement of finishes in the existing operations office and the build-out of a new employee lounge and meeting room. Structure Tone will be working alongside SmithGroup to complete this project.
