Skanska USA Building Inc. announced that it has signed an agreement with Atlanta-based Pope & Land Enterprises Inc. to provide pre-development services on the site of the Charlotte Coliseum. Skanska will provide a range of services for Pope & Land as it prepares to redevelop the Charlotte Coliseum into a 190-acre mixed-use development called City Park.

Skanska's scope of work primarily involves coordinating the demolition of the coliseum and site development. Through a process that includes analyzing bids for demolition and selecting demolition subcontractors, Skanska will create the schedule for the arena's demolition and act as the owner's agent to manage the process. Additionally, Skanska will review related site issues, including wetlands issues, materials recycling, permits, and more.

Under terms of the agreement, Skanska will also review the preliminary plans for City Park infrastructure and make appropriate recommendations to Pope & Land.
