Spalding DeDecker Associates, Inc. (SDA) acquired Dietrich, Bailey and Associates, PC (DBA) on February 4.
Both firms are professional engineering and surveying firms that have served Southeast Michigan for many years. DBA is headquartered in Plymouth, MI, with a second office in Monroe, MI, while SDA is headquartered in Detroit, MI, with additional offices in Rochester Hills, Brighton and Trenton, MI.
"The combination of SDA and DBA will make both companies stronger. With approximately 100 employees and a diverse offering of professional civil engineering and surveying services, SDA adds strength to the DBA client base in both the municipal and private sectors. DBA provides SDA with a greater presence in Western Wayne County, MI, and also adds landscape architecture to its catalog of services," SDA President David Lakin, P.E., said.
DBA will continue to serve its client base out of its Plymouth and Monroe offices, and Michael Bailey, P.E. will remain in his current capacity as president in charge of DBA. "We are very excited to join forces with a strong company like SDA, while providing an ownership stake for me and DBA's employees. This bodes very well for the future of DBA, our clients and our employees," Bailey said.
Established in 1954, SDA specializes in infrastructure, land development and surveying. SDA provides design and engineering solutions for municipal, land development, transportation, and water/wastewater projects. The firm also offers complete construction engineering, pavement management, and land surveying and mapping services. Established in 1968, DBA is a multidisciplined organization that also provides landscape architecture services. DBA serves Wayne County; Monroe County, MI; Livingston County, MI; Washtenaw County, MI; and the surrounding counties.
