Driver Charged in N.C. Work Zone Death

Hit & run incident killed a 53-year-old worker in Wilmington, North Carolina.

The driver of a Lincoln Aviator struck and killed a construction worker in Wilmington, North, Carolina, according to police.

Seggern Von, 53, was hit while working on Military Cutoff Road around 1 a.m. on Thursday, April 11. The driver of the SUV fled the scene on foot, according to news reports based on police statements. Dakota Quinn Knight, 29, was later found and arrested by police.

According to the police report, the driver of the SUV was charged with DWI, felony death by vehicle, felony hit & run, reckless driving, and failure to reduce speed. He remains in jail, according to news reports, under a $515,000 bond.
