A 74-horsepower-engine option is available for the Extendo 944B telehandler, providing end users and rental operators more choice when selecting material-handling equipment, says the company. The Cummins QSF 3.8 Tier 4-F engine requires no diesel exhaust fluid and uses only a diesel-oxidation-catalyst muffler for emissions aftertreatment, reducing both complexity and maintenance, says Pettibone.

Drivetrain and axles have been “optimized” for use with the optional engine, “providing greater tractive effort with minimal top-speed tradeoff,” says Pettibone.

The 944B has a maximum load capacity of 9,000 pounds, a forward reach to 30.25 feet, and a maximum lift height of 44.33 feet. The 944B uses single-joystick, pilot-operated controls for boom and auxiliary-hydraulic functions, and four-wheel, two-wheel, and crab steering modes enhance maneuverability, says the company.
