Twenty-five attendees recently learned the basics of pervious concrete, including mix design prepration, subgrade preparation, proper placement and finishing, and proper curing during the Ready Mixed Concrete Association's pervious-concretecertification seminar in Milwaukee.
The one-day class was sponsored by the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association and the Wisconsin Ready Mixed Concrete Association. The local instructor was Heath Schopf, P.E.,director of construction engineering for the Wisconsin ConcretePavement Association.
Attendees who successfully completed the seminar earned certification for five years. This was the first pervious-concrete seminar held this year. Another is planned for later in the fall somewhere in north central Wisconsin, but no exact date or location has been scheduled yet. For more information, visit www.wrmca.com.
