Caterpillar CB10 Compactor has Oscillation

Nov. 9, 2016

The Cat CB10 tandem vibratory roller has oscillation technology available, combining vertical vibration on the front drum and oscillation on the rear. When so equipped, the front drum is available in two amplitude, five amplitude, or Versa-Vibe systems.

The oscillatory system uses the company’s own pod-style eccentric weight technology, which has a 2-year, 2,000-hour service interval. The power-transmission uses a belt-drive system that delivers two times the load capacity of timing-belt systems, the company says.

The 10-ton roller has 67-inch drums with a 6-inch offset. Drum diameter is 47 inches. The roller is powered by a Cat C4.4 engine that delivers 131 horsepower at 2,200 rpm.
