Caterpillar PM300 Series Cold Planers

Engine provides increased horsepower.
April 3, 2024

Caterpillar has updated its PM300 series of cold planers with a Cat C9.3B diesel engine with more gross power and available torque. The 343-horsepower powerplant goes into the Cat PM310, Cat PM312, and Cat PM313 milling machines.

The transition flashing between primary and loading conveyors has been redesigned to improve containment of material and reduce build-up on the front machine frame. The planers also have enhancements to the right-hand side plate, chamber-to-conveyor sealing, and loading conveyor belt sealing. Front track deflectors positioned in front of the drive motors protect from debris impact and build-up.

An adjustable on-screen guidance line feature has been added to the left-hand camera, giving operators a way to track the cutting edge from either side of the machine. Ground personnel can also now control the obstacle jump capability from the rear ground controls to improve milling efficiency.
