The OEM Data Delivery ST-500 Radio Service Tracker system uses radio-wave technology to track machine operating time for use in job costing, machine servicing and machine utilization calculations. According to the manufacturer, data can include date and time of operation, service records, job hours and consumables use. This information, says OEM, can then be gathered by a PDA data collector and downloaded into virtually any computer program. A stationary or mobile tower on site collects data without interrupting normal machine operation. Line-of-sight must be maintained and data transmission is limited to 200 feet.
