Normet Corp. of Finland designed the RBO management and transportation vehicle explicitly for underground use. The RBO is powered by a 127-hp diesel from either Cat or Deutz. The cab is FOPS/ROPS approved. It has an electronically controlled hydrostatic transmission, hydrostatic power steering (right or left side drive); two-circuit oil immersed multi-disc service brakes and failsafe parking/emergency brake. Riding on parabolic leaf springs and hydraulic shock absorbers, the unit will carry five passengers and a metric ton (2,200 pounds) of cargo.
