The Nokian Ground Kare tire range has proven its worth on soft soil, where its single-tire performance is superior to more narrow dual wheels, the company says.
A large footprint is meant to minimize soil damage, and a special rubber compound enhances grip, even in winter. The footprint and rubber combine to ensure the tire wears very slowly and evenly. It is also steel fortified against cuts and cracks, and unlike with dual tires, rocks cannot wedge between them. In addition to wheeled excavators, the tire is also suited for backhoe loaders, and a semi-slick version is available for railroad use.
