Metabo Corporation introduces the new compact W8-125 5" angle grinder that offers 11 percent higher productivity than similar 4-1/2" models. The grinder is suitable for finishing welded seams, rough grinding for weld preparation and sanding and cutting applications. It weighs 5.4 pounds and features a secure "racket" grip and dual grip zones.
The W8-125 has Metabo's cooling technology with repositioned brushes for unrestricted airflow and a fan that pulls 35 percent more air through the tool. It also features an 8.0 amp motor with 800 watts of power, 19.5 in/lbs of torque and a no-load speed of 10,000 RPM.
Double lipped labyrinth sealed bearings, a unique winding protection grid and epoxy coated windings protect the motor and other essential components from harmful dust and debris. Safety features include a tool-less guard adjustment, spindle lock and an "S-Automatic" safety slip clutch to help protect the operator from kickback by absorbing the torque created if the wheel should bind or snag.
