For the ninth year, volunteers from Marsh's office in Charlotte, NC, participated in Marsh Day, the firm's annual day of giving back. Over 60 volunteers worked hand-in-hand to complete several improvement projects at LifeSpan Farm – Therapeutic Riding Center.
This year's Marsh Day was capped off with Marsh Charlotte being named LifeSpan's Corporate Philanthropist of the Year, an award given to organizations that support LifeSpan by volunteering and offering additional in-kind and financial support.
This year marked the fourth time Marsh has worked with LifeSpan, whose mission is to transform the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities by providing education, employment and enrichment programs that promote inclusion, choice, family support, and other best practices.
“Since we began working together, LifeSpan and Marsh have become family,” stated Nancy McEneny, director of Community Affairs and Development for LifeSpan. “In total, Marsh has donated more than $10,000 to off-set supplies and materials used for Marsh Day projects in addition to bringing over 240 volunteers and offering more than $25,000 of in-kind service to LifeSpan facilities.”
Marsh Charlotte would like to recognize colleagues from sister MMC companies, including Mercer, Oliver Wyman and CS STARS, as well as employees from Cogentrix, Piedmont Natural Gas and Springs Global for also volunteering at this year's Marsh Day. In addition, special thanks are given to Harris Teeter for donating boxed lunches for Marsh Day volunteers along with LunaseaMedia Production for capturing the day in pictures and video.
