The WPU1550A gas-powered plate compactor switches from forward to reverse operation via a mechanical shift lever placed within easy reach on the guide handle.
Powered by a 4.8-horsepower Honda engine with 3,372 pounds of force, this highly maneuverable compactor offers a forward travel speed up to 65 fpm. The low vibration guide handle allows for extended operating time and can be tilted forward to assist in uphill travel.
The heavy-duty base plate is made of nodular cast iron specially contoured to maneuver and produce smooth asphalt finishes. The full frame protects the engine and water tank from damage and includes a central lifting point for easy loading and unloading. The WPU1550A is easy to start and stop via an integrated remote throttle control lever. Also integrated into the machine is a transport wheel set that provides for mobility around the job site and shop.
The Wacker Neuson WPU1550A reversible plate series is available with or without a water tank and sprinkling system for asphalt applications. The water tank can be detached without tools for convenient refilling and includes a large primary intake filter to protect against sprinkler bar clogging and contamination. The water slots on the sprinkler bar provide for equal distribution and the water flow can be controlled by adjusting the shut-off valve.
