March 12, 2014

Komatsu HM300-5 articulated dump truck uses a 324-horsepower Komatsu SAA6D125E-7 engine that is EPA Tier 4-Final emissions certified using SCR technology. The Komatsu HM300-5 ADT has a payload capacity of 30.9 tons and a gross vehicle weight of 117,892 pounds. Loading height is 9 feet 2 inches, which matches with 30- to 60-ton excavators or 5- to 7.5-cubic-yard loaders. Two single-staged body lift cylinders provide a 70-degree dump angle. Traction Control System (K-TCS) automatically provides optimum traction, the company says, as ground conditions worsen and tire slippage is detected by the speed sensors located on the four wheels.

The Komatsu HM300-5 articulated dump truck is equipped with the company’s latest KOMTRAX remote-monitoring system with data access via the web or via the KOMTRAX Mobile on smart phones.  In addition to providing data such as fuel levels, operating hours, location, cautions, and maintenance alerts, says Komatsu, KOMTRAX also monitors diesel-exhaust-fluid levels, ambient air temperatures, and pressures. In addition, a new Operator Identification System reports key operating information for multiple operators, and a new Auto Idle Shutdown function is designed to reduce unnecessary idle time.
