Kohler expands its Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) technology line with the introduction of the Command PRO EFI ECH440 and the Command PRO EFI ECH980.
The new 14-horespower ECH440 EFI engine, which features Kohler’s Quad-Clean four-stage cyclonic air cleaner, is the first single-cylinder engine to integrate closed-loop EFI, the company says. It is designed for a wider array of utility equipment, including generators, welders, utility vehicles, stump grinders, and more. The ECH980 is designed for large commercial lawn mowers as well as equipment typically found at rental houses, such as chippers and concrete saws. This engine will deliver up to 38 horsepower and 55.3 lb.-ft. of torque. Kohler says the new models are anticipated to deliver an estimated 25 percent in fuel savings when compared to its similar carbureted engines under comparable load conditions.
