It’s rated at 33,000 to 68,000 pounds GVW, comes with a Paccar PX-8 or Cummins ISL, and can be ordered with a variety of transmissions and axles, including one lift axle. The T440 offers 6-, 9-, 10-, 11-, and 13-speed Eaton Fuller manual and 5- and 6-speed Allison automatic transmissions. Dana axles include 12,000- to 22,000-pound fronts, 21,000- to 30,000- pound single rears, and 40,000- to 46,000-pound tandem rears. In the front, a Kenworth signature grille and halogen projector-beam headlamps are standard, while high-intensity discharge (HID) lighting is optional. The multiplexed dash is the same as used in Kenworth’s Class 8 trucks, and has a large side panel for installation of body controls and gauges. An Extended Day Cab option provides an additional 6 inches of length and 5 inches of cab height compared to the standard daycab.
