IR Expands Earthmoving Offering

Sept. 28, 2010

Ingersoll Rand makes no small claims about its new earthmovers recently introduced into the marketplace—two wheel loaders and two hydraulic excavators. What they all have in common are high performance, rugged durability, excellent operator productivity, safety and comfort, according to the company.

The 16,538-pound ZX-75 and 27,563-pound ZX-125 excavators are powered by 72- and 94-hp turbocharged diesel engines, respectively. They offer zero tail swing for working close to obstacles or on tight jobsites. The articulated boom system is said to provide increased capability outside and parallel to the tracks for excavating within the width of the machine without repositioning it. Maximum digging depth is 13 feet 11 inches for the ZX-75 and 15 feet 4 inches for the ZX-125. Standard auxiliary hydraulics allow the machines to handle a variety of attachments. They also feature an open flow return for the auxiliary hydraulic line. Both ISO and SAE controls are available with the push of a button.

Wheel loaders

With operating weights of 11,240 and 13,230 pounds, the new 60-hp WL-350 and 73-hp WL-440 wheel loaders offer parallel loader linkage and high breakout forces of 10,128 and 12,730 pounds, respectively. A standard hydraulic quick coupler allows the operator to change attachments quickly from the safety of the cab.

IR says the transverse-mounted engine and hydraulic pump at the rear of the loaders provide a high static tipping load while maintaining a compact size. For the WL-350 and WL-440, respectively, tipping load straight is 11,731 and 14,620 pounds; tipping load articulated is 10,352 and 12,900 pounds.

Estimated list prices for the excavators range from $70,000 to $140,000. Wheel-loader list prices range from $40,000 to $70,000.
