International PayStar 5900i

Sept. 28, 2010

International Truck and Engine has announced a PayStar 5900i severe-service truck and tractor with a setback steer axle, joining the existing model with its forward-set axle. The setback axle helps with weight distribution in many states and has a tighter wheel cut for better maneuverability. It uses the PayStar’s aluminum cab with a Whisper Cab sound insulation package and a sloping composite hood mounted on standard 12.25-inch-high frame rails.

The setback axle helps with weight distribution in many states and has a tighter wheel cut for better maneuverability. It uses the PayStar’s aluminum cab with a Whisper Cab sound insulation package and a sloping composite hood mounted on standard 12.25-inch-high frame rails. Its twin external air cleaners and large cooling system can handle up to 625-horsepower engines from Caterpillar or Cummins at low road speeds and while standing still. Several high-capacity front axles come standard with dual steering gears. The PayStar 5900i SBA’s first public showing is scheduled for March, but it can be ordered now.
