Construction equipment operators can perform inspections in the field and submit them immediately with the Vehicle and Equipment Inspection feature on Temeda’s smartphone-based asset management application.
“This highly modernized approach to performing vehicle and equipment inspections is a great addition to our already robust spectrum of asset monitoring support,” said president/CEO Scott Morey in a prepared statement. “In keeping with our mission of providing companies with precision asset management and intelligence tools to improve productivity and save money, the Vehicle and Equipment Inspection module is packed with convenient features to support field personnel and make their jobs easier.”
Fleet managers can assess the inspections in real-time and take appropriate action for assets with warnings or failed inspections. A maintenance ticket can be created as soon as the asset fails inspection, and fleet managers and service technicians can verify when corrective actions are taken. The module unites all parties connected to the inspection and keeps information updated and in one, central place, according to the company.
Users can upload photos and key documents, as well as use their phone’s speech-to-text feature to add comments. If a task is failed, photos and comments can explain what happened and why. Users have complete flexibility to customize tasks and inspection types for their particular fleets, and the module is fully compliant with DOT regulations and the Electronic Code of Federal Regulations §396.11.
The vehicle and equipment inspection module is also available on the company’s web application.
“Not only is our new asset inspection feature convenient and user-friendly, it also plays an important role in assuring the safety and integrity of company fleets,” Morey said. “Vehicles and equipment can be inspected before an asset is ever used, and the app captures complete maintenance history logs to allow for thorough monitoring and recordkeeping throughout an asset’s life. We’re always looking for ways to add innovation to the way that our clients do business, and we believe that this technology will transform the way they approach and manage the asset inspection process.”
