Bucket Whacks Worker in Head
A man was injured Friday when he was struck in the head with a piece of construction equipment at a work site in southern Cayuga County, New York.
In a post on Facebook, the Genoa (New York) Volunteer Fire Department said it was dispatched to the site shortly after 4:30 that afternoon.
The man had traumatic injuries after being struck in the head with the bucket of a piece of equipment. A picture the department posted shows a compact track loader leaning forward, tracks up in the air, with its bucket on the ground.
It was unclear if the man was pinned under the bucket, the department said, but he was free by the time responders arrived.
The department provided care for the man and stabilized the machine before turning care over to the Upstate Trauma Center via Southern Cayuga Instant Aid. The King Ferry Fire Department and Cayuga County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene.
