H&E acquires Giffin Equipment

H&E adds dealer branches in three California cities.

H&E Equipment Services has acquired the rental assets of Giffin Equipment. Giffin is a Bobcat dealer headquartered in Goleta, California.

The deal includes three branch locations in California—Goleta, Ventura, and Santa Maria—and a fleet valued at $13.4 million measured by original equipment cost (OEC). The Giffin website lists a fourth branch “coming soon” in Atascadero, California, but the future of that opening is uncertain. The move gives H&E 135 branch locations in 30 states, including 15 in California.

“The addition of Giffin’s equipment rental assets and facilities increases our branch density and assists in bridging our existing locations in Central and Southern California,” said Brad Barber, CEO, in a statement. “The improved density and continuity allow H&E to efficiently address the active non-residential construction market through extended regional coverage, while providing meaningful expansion of our rental fleet within the existing branch structure.”
