Aug. 31, 2023
Total cost of the repair estimated at $400 million.

Floods caused a breach in a levee along the Pajaro River, flooding the town of Pajaro, California, in March. Watch a report on flooding at CBS Bay Area.

S.E.A. Construction began repair work earlier this month to fix the levee, which had been identified as vulnerable following floods in 2017 and 2018, according to CBS Bay Area. Work was to begin in 2025 to improve flood management; that work has been moved up to next year.

The report cited figures from the Army Corps of Engineers, putting the total cost for the levee construction at $400 million.
