A multimillion-dollar plan to improve the Monroe County (Indiana) Airport lighting system will continue to be delayed through the spring according to airport officials, as supply chain issues strike again.
The airport received a $2.3 million federal grant in 2020 to replace the old incandescent lighting system with brighter, more efficient LEDs, Indiana Public Media reports.
Shipping and manufacturing delays for materials have drawn the project out almost three years. Some of the parts required for the project have been delayed more than 16 months, officials say.
