A construction worker was hit and killed by a motorist on Indian Head Highway in Maryland, police officials said.
The worker, 56-year-old Huerta Melendez of Montgomery Village, was on a job site in a closed section of the roadway in Fort Washington, Prince George’s County police said. According to the Washington Post, the driver hit several traffic cones and struck Melendez, before crashing into a median and a second vehicle.
