HazTek Intros Safety Leadership Program

Aug. 8, 2022

HazTek has announced its Leading Safely approach to safety leadership, which is designed to help industry leaders transform their organizations in ways that reduce risks, improve team morale, and open pathways to better financial performance.

Designed to reimagine EHS as a core function of the construction process, Leading Safely is a comprehensive approach that partners with businesses to create a new era in EHS leadership — working both top down and bottom up. HazTek’s experienced consulting experts start by helping leaders and teams assess where their organization currently stands in regard to safety — and where they need to focus to fully capture the benefits of enhanced safety performance. Then they work with the organization’s key leaders to transform mindsets, modernize safety systems, and build safety leadership skills.

HazTek’s Leading Safely challenges today’s definition of safety success by expanding our current focus on behaviors and outcomes to include positive mindsets and good decision making. The program is designed to build on HazTek’s capabilities for safety management and integrate the most recent insights into human performance and safety system design and implementation.

HazTek principal consultant Matthew Vane Phillips guides and delivers the company’s Leading Safely approach. Phillips’ experience in transformational change and leadership, and his focused creative and consultative energy, have helped company executives, project safety leaders, and organizations to develop and deliver modernizations and advancements in safety approaches that lead to sustainable breakthroughs in safety performance.

Phillips brings over 17 years of global consulting experience to the company and has worked with corporate and government leaders to create meaningful results on some of the world’s largest and most complex projects across a range of industries, including energy, high tech, and infrastructure. He thrives on helping organizations and their teams remove obstacles to performance potential, delivering results beyond what is predictable or considered feasible.
