181,880-pound R800LC-7A is Hyundai’s largest excavator

June 01, 2008

Hyundai R800LC-7A Mass Excavator Crawler ExcavatorThe 181,880-pound R800LC-7A is Hyundai’s largest excavator and is now powered by the new Tier-3 Cummins QSX, generating 460 net horsepower at 1,600 rpm. Hydraulics have been optimized to improve response time, and the system performs faster and saves fuel by automatically storing hydraulic energy during arm-in and boom-down functions to speed arm-out and boom-up movement without requiring more engine power. Hyundai's CAPO system offers two operator power mode selections, three work modes and two user-mode choices to tailor machine performance to the job at hand. Equipped with a mass-excavator 23-foot-7-inch boom and 9-foot-8-inch arm, the new R800LC-7A can handle a 5.91-cubic-yard bucket.
