Komatsu America’s 177-horsepower PC240LC-11 hydraulic excavator, using a Komatsu SAA6D107E-3B engine that is Tier 4-Final emissions certified, has an operating-weight range between 54,490 and 55,129 pounds. All major hydraulic components, including pumps, motors, and valves, are designed and produced by Komatsu and used in an integrated, closed-center, load-sensing system that incorporates the company’s Variable Speed Matching technology, which allows engine speed to adjust based on pump output. Additional enhancements have been made within the hydraulic system, says Komatsu, to reduce hydraulic loss, resulting in better efficiency.
