A man working for a pool company died Thursday when he was trapped under an excavator, according to a report in Portland Press Herald. The 21-year-old man, who worked for Prestige Pools, was found unconscious by police and fire personnel.
The man had been installing an in-ground pool with co-workers when the excavator overturned, trapping the man under the boom, according to Auburn, Maine, Deputy Police Chief Timothy Cougle.
The teams responded to a call for a construction accident at about 11:20 a.m. on Thursday, August 5. The man's co-workers were unsuccessful in reviving him with CPR, according to the report. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is currently under investigation.
