Ciel, the “world’s largest hotel” according to Arch Daily, is currently in development in the Dubai Marina. The building developer, The First Group, released a video rendering of the building’s development.
According to the article, the tower will reach a height of over 1,000 feet and will house 1,042 luxury suites. Scheduled to open in late 2023, the building is described as a “glass sculpture inspired by the concept of vertical living,” according to Arch Daily.
The structure is additionally inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-sabi, “a philosophy rooted in the appreciation of the imperfect and impermanent beauty of objects in nature.”
The First Group is one of the region’s fastest-growing hotel developers, according to the article, with seven additional properties under development in Dubai.
