John Deere has elected John C. May as a member of the board (effective immediately), and to the position of CEO effective November 4, 2019. He has served as Deere’s president and COO since April 2019.
Samuel R. Allen, chairman and CEO will continue has chairman of the board after stepping down from the CEO position. May will become the 10th CEO in the company’s 182-year history.
Earlier in his career, May headed the company’s China operations, served as a factory manager in the Iowa Works, and was VP of the turf and utility platform.
