Warren Caterpillar in Tulsa has moved across town to their new facility at 3601 N. Garnett Road, a mile east of Tulsa International Airport. The new building is approximately 114,000 square feet in size and situated on 36 acres, near the intersection of North 169 and East 36th Street North.
"Our current location was once on the outskirts of town," explained Jim Nelson, president of Warren CAT. "As Tulsa has grown, it has become more difficult to maneuver large equipment in and out of our site. Our new location will provide much easier access for our customers."
Crossland Construction was the general contractor for the $15-million facility that was designed by Parkhill Smith and Cooper.
Nelson provided additional insight on the new project. "Our vision is a state-of-the-art facility consistent with the world-class support we provide to our customers. The facility will incorporate the latest in technology, safety design, environmental systems, and work flow efficiencies, which will enhance our capabilities to meet customers' needs."
An expanded parts warehouse will provide greater selection and availability of products for customers. Selected rebuilding operations will be maintained in a specialization shop. Additionally, a designated hydraulics repair area will improve the capability to service Caterpillar and other manufacturers' hydraulic components. To maintain an optimal level of productivity, the layout also includes a separate wash bay area and a utility building for welding, undercarriage and painting services.
