Aug. 22, 2019

Hino celebrated the grand opening of its new 1,000,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Mineral Wells, West Virginia, with a tree planting tradition and a KagamiWari ceremony to consummate Hino’s commitment to growing in the U.S. Governor Justice, Senators Manchin and Capito, Congressman McKinley, local government officials, and dealers were in attendance.

The company’s president and CEO, Yoshio Shimo, also attended the event, saying that Hino has committed $100 million to the facility, which will generate 250 new jobs.

According to the company, the new facility can produce 15,000 trucks a year on one shift, providing Hino the capacity it needs to grow in the U.S.

“Hino has been a tremendous partner to the State of West Virginia since 2007,” Governor Justice said in a press release. “With 800 West Virginians planned to be employed by Hino, they continue to be one of West Virginia’s biggest employers.”
