Heavy-Duty, Crawler-style Undercarriage Enhances Design

The new Bomag 814-2 and 815-2asphalt pavers, with standard paving widths from 8 to 14 feet and 8 to 15 feet, respectively, use an 85-hp Cummins diesel engine and are fitted with a heavy-duty, crawler-style undercarriage that features self-cleaning polyurethane tracks and six sealed rollers per side. Both machines provide paving speeds to 180 fpm, and both use screeds with a formed leading edge that facilitates material flow and allows paving to depths of 6 inches. The pavers use an 8-ton-capacity hopper and a dual-slat conveyor system. List prices begin at $100,000.
