Gradall XL5100 III Excavator

Sept. 28, 2010

Weighing 55,000 pounds, Gradall's XL5100 III wheeled excavator uses a single Tier 3 Detroit Diesel Mercedes engine instead of two Cummins engines, as its predecessor did. This conserves fuel, the company says, while producing greater horsepower and operating both the truck carrier and the upperstructure. Upper-structure swing speed has increased 33 percent, and breakout force increased from 21,900 to 24,900 pounds.
