The Detroit Diesel Mercedes engine gives the machine highway mobility and powers the boom and upperstucture. Fitted with a telescoping boom, the XL 3100 III can reach under tight spaces and obstructions. It has a maximum reach of 27 feet 5 inches, a dig depth of 19 feet 4 inches, and a maximum working height of 16 feet 3 inches.
