Pilot Series CTL models include the RT185 with 1,850 pounds of rated operating capacity at 35-percent tipping load, the RT215 with 2,150 pounds of rated operating capacity at 35-percent tipping load, and the RT255 with 2,550 pounds of rated operating capacity at 35-percent tipping load.

All three models feature pilot-operated joystick controls designed to give the operator true one-to-one proportional control over the drive system. The controls are mounted to the seat for added legroom and comfort during operation. Pilot Series models also provide the same features found on the RT Series track loaders. IdealTrax Automatic Track Tensioning simplifies routine maintenance and reduces downtime, the company says, by ensuring the proper track tension when the engine is started and relieving the pressure on the track components when the engine is turned off. The IdealAccess fold-up door provides an overall machine operating height several inches lower than machines with over-head door systems, according to Gehl. The door allows operation of the machine with the door in the open position for added ventilation and allows for easy door opening even when a large attachment is installed.

Other standard features include self-leveling lift action that keeps the attachment level as the lift arm is raised and lowered, and a two-speed hydrostatic drive system that provides travel speeds up to 8.9 mph. Selectable self-leveling is available as an option, allowing the operator to disable the self-level action from the operator’s station when needed. All three machines have a dedicated track loader undercarriage custom built to aid in weight distribution with the goal of enhancing stability, grading, tractive effort, and ride control.

Outfitted with a skid-attach plate and the All-tach attachment mounting system, Pilot Series track loaders can use a variety of attachments. The optional Power-A-Tach system allows the operator to engage and disengage the attachment without leaving the operator station—the operator has to leave the cab only when hoses must be attached. An optional 14-pin connector allows for operation of attachments like brooms and cold planers. High-flow auxiliary hydraulics are also available as an option, providing hydraulic flows up to 37.4 gpm. An optional rear view back up camera is also available. Additional options include a pressurized cab with air conditioning and an air suspension seat.
