AM series Hilltip salt spreaders has been expanded with extended-auger models, designed for use on interchangeable truck bed systems. The new models can be positioned closer to the bulkhead of the truck for better weight distribution, according to the company.
Ranging in capacities from 2.0 to 4.2 cubic yards, the spreaders have polyethylene hoppers and 6-inch stainless-steel augers. They can be powered by 12- or 24-volt dual motors. The hoppers include a vibrator and inverted-V to help maximize material flow.
AM series spreaders have integral liquid tanks ranging in capacity from 220 to 250 gallons. Pre-wetting nozzles, a dual spray bar, and hose reel with hand-held spray nozzle can be added for pre-wetting, anti-icing, and de-icing applications.
The extended auger is available as a retrofit kit for older spreader models. User can unbolt the existing auger trough and install the new kit using the same holes.
