eDaily: JCB 409 Compact Wheel Loader

Sept. 28, 2010

The JCB compact wheel loader range has been extended with the launch of the 75-horsepower model 409. With an operating weight of 12,831 pounds, the new articulated machine uses a hydrostatic transmission that drives though mechanical axles to provide all-wheel drive. Using a standard 1.3-cubic yard bucket, the 409 has a straight tipping load of 10,480 pounds, and a full-turn tipping load of 8,628 pounds. (When equipped with pallet forks, says JCB, the 409 can handle a 5,500-pound load.)
