The EW230C wheeled excavator from Volvo is built around a new, more robust platform designed for the stability needed to manage bigger loads and hard digging. The 27-ton excavator’s rear axle load, when fitted with the standard counterweight, weighs just over 13 tons. Choices of 18’8" mono boom or two-piece boom, and a heavier counterweight are available. The EW230C is powered by the 167-horsepower Volvo D6E EHE3 diesel engine. Like all Volvo excavators, 95 percent of the machine is recyclable.
