New Holland Expands Its Compact Wheel Loader Lineup with Three New D-Series Models

The new W70D, W80D, and W80D Long Reach bring a redesigned cab, smarter hydraulics, and seven years of telematics.

Key Highlights

  • Three new loaders join the D-Series: The W70D, W80D, and W80D Long Reach replace New Holland's C-Series compact wheel loaders.
  • Operator comfort gets a major upgrade: An air-ride seat with integrated joystick controls, load-sensing hydraulics, and customizable machine response help improve productivity.
  • Compact strategy keeps growing: The new loaders follow New Holland's expanded D-Series mini excavator lineup, reinforcing the brand's focus on landscaping, construction, agriculture, and material handling.

New Holland is doubling down on compact equipment. Hell, they may be tripling down. Just months after rolling out five new D-Series mini excavators and the E25X electric mini excavator and C314X electric mini track loader, the company has unveiled three new compact wheel loaders — the W70D, W80D, and W80D Long Reach. The machines expand New Holland’s D-Series lineup below the W100D, which was released last year. This new trio replaces the previous C-Series models, bringing all those D-Series upgrades (operator environment, enhanced visibility, improved controls, and connected fleet technology). From the press release:

“Segments like landscaping and construction crews are expected to accomplish more than ever in a single day, while often times moving between multiple jobsites and changing up applications multiple times,” says Dan Kakareka, product manager for New Holland Construction North America. “The new W70D, W80D and W80D Long Reach Compact Wheel Loaders give crews the ability to perform more tasks with a single machine, helping businesses make the most out of their time, labor and equipment investment.”

Available during the third quarter of 2026, the W70D, W80D, and W80D Long Reach are designed to thrive in industries such as landscaping, construction, snow removal, agriculture, and material handling. Let’s dig in.

One platform, three machines

The three new wheel loaders fill the middle of New Holland’s compact lineup. The W70D and W80D use a midsize frame, while the W80D Long Reach adds additional increased reach and dump height. Alas, specs for these machines are not yet available. New Holland also focused on attachment versatility. Every model uses a hydraulic skid steer-style coupler that lets operators switch attachments without leaving the cab — buckets, pallet forks, tree spades, bale spears, and beyond.

Safety first

Everyone always puts safety upgrades last, so I’m (gently) placing them up front. First off, each loader includes seven years of myNewHollandConstruction telematics at no additional charge. Fleet managers can monitor machine location, operating hours, maintenance schedules, and machine health through the connected platform.

Other safety improvements include:

  • Standard rearview camera
  • Backup alarm
  • LED lighting package
  • Available four-corner strobe kit
  • Improved visibility from the redesigned cab

Cab upgrades

Like many new machines today, some of the biggest improvements happen inside the cab. New Holland redesigned the operator station around visibility, comfort, and easier machine control. The heated air-ride seat now carries the integrated joystick controls. The company also lowered the front console and enlarged the windshield to improve visibility to the bucket and attachment. A new display mounted on the right-side A-pillar places machine information directly in the operator’s line of sight instead of forcing operators to look down. Small details matter, too. A sliding right-side window and door make it easier to communicate with ground crews without climbing out of the machine.

Hydraulics designed for productivity

New Holland packed several productivity features into the D-Series loaders as standard.

  • Multifunction joystick
  • Ride control
  • Cruise control
  • Creep mode
  • Return-to-dig
  • Return-to-dump
  • Return-to-travel

Operators also can tune boom and bucket response. Behind the scenes, load-sensing hydraulics and flow-sharing technology automatically distribute hydraulic flow where it’s needed. New Holland says the system even contributes to better fuel efficiency. Travel speeds reach 25 mph, allowing crews to road.

New Holland continues its compact equipment push

The wheel loaders are only part of a much larger rollout. Earlier this year, New Holland introduced five new D-Series diesel mini excavators: the E12D, E19D, E30D, E38D, and E60D. Those machines joined the previously released E42D and E50D, which were the first two units engineered in-house. Two electric excavators, the E15X and E25X, round out the broader compact lineup. The E25X electric mini excavator and C314X electric mini track loader were announced in February. The company announced the W100D compact wheel loader last July. New Holland Construction added the ML27 and ML27T models to its small articulated loader portfolio like two years ago.

New Holland Construction has compact on the brain, which makes sense. The company places a big emphasis on landscaping, agriculture, and nursery work — key markets for compact machinery. I’ll also note that similar variants of these machines can be found in the Case Construction Equipment portfolio as well. Both brands operate under the CNH umbrella and increasingly share engineering platforms and technology while maintaining separate dealer networks.
