Doosan Bobcat Considering Acquisition of Wacker Neuson

Doosan Bobcat is considering a plan to purchase Wacker Neuson, according to a report in The Korea Herald. Wacker Neuson confirmed that discussions are underway.

The Herald reported that in a regulatory filing, Doosan Bobcat said it had not made a decision but would provide an update when “specific details are finalized, or within one month.”

In a press release, Wacker Neuson said that Doosan Bobcat is considering acquiring shares amounting to approximately 63% of Wacker Neuson’s share capital from major shareholders and launching a public takeover offer in the form of an all-cash offer to all remaining Wacker Neuson shareholders.

The Herald reported that talks have been going on for more than a year. It said the deal would enable Doosan Bobcat to diversify its business and strengthen its European presence.
