Sales for the first six months of Komatsu’s fiscal year totaled about $12.2 billion, up 12.6% over the same period a year ago. Sales of construction, mining, and utility equipment were about $11.4 billion for the period, up 13.4%

North America sales remained steady, and demand for mining equipment remained strong. The company cited expanding parts sales and service revenues as a driver for the increase.

Operating income for the first six months reached about $2.0 billion, bolstered by “improved selling prices.”
