Ditch Witch JT20 Horizontal Directional Drill

July 16, 2013

Reengineered around a Tier 4, 74.5-horsepower Deutz engine, JT20 HDD provides 17,000 pounds of thrust and 20,000 pounds of pullback force. No aftertreatment is needed on the engine, and noise output is 87 decibels. Cruise-control system simplifies drilling and backreaming, the company says, and dual rear independent stabilizers enhance stability. Features include automated, intuitive carve mode, and a tethered ground drive controller. Auto-throttle feature saves fuel and reduces pollution by slowing the engine to idle after 15 seconds of inactivity; when the operator resumes work, the auto-throttle engages.
