Detroit Diesel Series 900 off-highway engines

Sept. 28, 2010

Series 900 off-highway engines are available in 4- and 6-cylinder inline configurations with displacements of 4.3 and 6.4L, respectively. High peak torque ranges from 1,200 to 1,600 rpm. A deep-skirted cylinder block reduces vibration and noise. The water-cooled engines feature an electronic injection system and individual pumps for each cylinder for precise injection and optimal fuel efficiency. Engine electronics can be connected to other units that control the machine, including a diagnosis component. An error memory reports where, when and why a problem occurs.
